No ambiguity · written at every stage · built to leave you self-sufficient

You deserve to know exactly what you are buying before you buy it

Every Business Tech Navigator engagement follows the same structured approach — regardless of size, sector, or complexity. We define the problem before we propose a solution. We scope in writing before we start. We measure against outcomes you define, not effort we log. And we hand over work your team can run without us being permanently in the loop.

The engagement structure

Four stages. Every engagement. No exceptions.

The structure does not change based on scope or budget. A one-day workshop and a six-month programme run through the same gates — because the clarity at each stage is what makes the outcome predictable.

01

Scoping Call — Free, no commitment required

30 to 60 minutes

We talk before any money changes hands. You describe what is broken, what you have already tried, what success looks like to you and your team. We ask questions, not sales qualifiers. At the end of the call, we tell you honestly whether this looks like a good fit — and if not, we point you toward someone better placed.

Output

Honest fit assessment delivered in writing within 48 hours, with a recommended engagement shape or a referral if we are not the right call.

  • No NDA or commitment required for the initial call
  • We will tell you no-fit if that is the honest answer
  • If your problem is outside our depth, we refer rather than adapt our pitch
02

Proposal — Written, explicit, phased

3 to 5 business days

If there is a fit, we produce a written proposal that anyone on your team should be able to read and understand without a briefing. Explicit phases. Specific milestones. Defined deliverables with clear success criteria for each. How we plug into your team and tools. What we will and will not do. And the price — structured as a project fee or monthly retainer, not an open-ended hourly arrangement.

Output

Scoped proposal with phased milestones, deliverables, success criteria, pricing structure, and a clear description of our working arrangement.

  • Fixed-fee or monthly retainer — not open-ended hourly billing
  • Phased structure so you can stop at any gate without penalty
  • Explicit definition of scope boundary — what is in and what is out
03

Delivery — In the work, not just on calls

Per agreed schedule

We work alongside your team — not parallel to it. We attend the meetings that matter, own the deliverables we committed to, and produce written outputs your people can execute without us in the room every time. Process maps, SOP documentation, automation builds, technology recommendations — all artifacts designed to transfer knowledge, not create dependency.

Output

Agreed deliverables on schedule, plus async updates and written decision records between sessions so your team is never waiting on us.

  • Named principal on every session — not a junior on our behalf
  • Written decision records for anything the team needs to execute later
  • Async availability for urgent questions between scheduled sessions
04

Close or Continue — Decided with full information

End of each phase

Every phase ends with a written evaluation: what the business can do now that it could not before, what moved and what did not, and a clear recommendation on whether to extend the engagement, adjust the focus, or close. We measure our success by how self-sufficient your team is twelve months after we leave — not by how much retainer we can extend.

Output

Phase wrap-up report with impact assessment, team capability summary, and a clear recommendation on next steps — with no pressure to continue.

  • Good consulting leaves clients more capable, not more dependent
  • Handover documentation if the engagement closes
  • Optional ongoing advisory relationship on your terms, not ours
The principles behind how we work

Six things we do differently

Process before technology

We diagnose the process problem before recommending technology. Buying software to fix a broken process creates an expensive broken process.

Written over verbal

Proposals, decisions, and recommendations are always in writing. If it is not documented, it did not happen and cannot be handed over.

Outcomes over activity

We measure the engagement against what changed in your business — not how many sessions we ran or how many pages we produced.

Self-sufficiency over dependency

Our job is to leave your team more capable than when we arrived. We document to transfer knowledge, not to justify ongoing retainer.

Honest scope over scope creep

If something is outside the agreed scope, we flag it before we do it — not afterwards. Scope changes are proposals, not surprises.

Fit or referral — not a forced sale

If your problem does not match our depth, we say so and point you toward someone better placed. A mismatched engagement wastes your time and ours.
